Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on the re-election of Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the re-election of Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe:

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Abe on his re-election.

“Canada and Japan enjoy excellent bilateral relations which have grown under Prime Minister Abe’s leadership.

“I look forward to working closely together on negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and the Canada-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement as well as collaborating further on pressing issues of global concern.”
